KFC is bringing back a fan-favorite menu item — this time, in 3 flavors

KFC brought back a fan-favorite menu item on Nov. 12: Kentucky Fried Chicken Wraps. The returning menu item was introduced for a limited time earlier this year and is now being offered nationwide at the cost of two wraps for $5. And this time, the two returning wraps are bringing a new flavor with them.

The menu item, which was first called “Twister Wraps” and discontinued in 2014.  Luckily for those fans, the wraps are back, with a new lineup that includes:

  • The Mac & Cheese Wrap: This brand-new wrap features an Extra Crispy fried chicken tender topped with KFC’s cheddar mac and cheese and is sprinkled with the chain’s three-cheese blend in a tortilla.
  • The Spicy Slaw Chicken Wrap: This wrap takes an Extra Crispy tender and tops it with a mix of KFC coleslaw, spicy sauce and pickles in a tortilla.
  • The Classic Chicken Wrap: This wrap takes an extra crispy tender and pairs it with pickles and creamy mayo in a tortilla.

Taco Bell is testing Breakfast Tater Tots

The Breakfast Tater Tots debuted last week in Chicago. These tots are a breakfast version of nachos, with tater tots replacing chips. The plate of hot crispy tater tots is topped with scrambled eggs, bacon, or sausage, and loads of melted cheese. The Breakfast Tater Tots should be a slam-dunk winner. The tots arrived November 16 at 136 Taco Bell restaurants in Chicago.

KFC Debuts New Holiday Bucket Design

With the holidays just around the corner, KFC is serving up extra joy this season with a new holiday bucket design and matching holiday merch collection. We are also serving up two new menu items to make holiday celebrations Extra Crispy.

Since the 1960s, KFC restaurants around the world have created unique, holiday-themed buckets to celebrate the season. KFC’s new, 2023 limited-edition “Secret Recipe of Joy” holiday bucket reminds us that KFC has been serving families joy with its finger lickin’ good fried chicken for over 70 years. Many of KFC’s convenient bucket meals will come in the special holiday bucket for a limited time, starting Nov.

New this year, KFC’s popular new meal, the $20 Fill Up Box, will also come in a special holiday box featuring the “Secret Recipe of Joy” design. KFC’s $20 Fill Up Box includes 12 Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets, four pieces of chicken on the bone, Secret Recipe Fries, four biscuits and your choice of four dipping sauces – ideal for smaller holiday celebrations.

Two new menu items will also arrive Nov. 12: a new Mac & Cheese Wrap joins the Kentucky Fried Chicken Wraps lineup as 2 for $5 wraps* return, and the Colonel’s Homestyle Brownie, a family-size fudgy brownie that can be added to any bucket meal, or the $20 Fill Up Box, for just $5.

Taco Bell is gaining ground as people look to save on food

In the US, Taco Bell is seeing 2-3% growth in the number of orders “across all income levels,” said David Gibbs, CEO of Taco Bell’s parent company Yum Brands, during an analyst call Wednesday November 1st discussing the company’s third quarter financial results. “So our stores in lower-income trade areas are performing well … just like our stores in high-income trade areas,” he said. Sales at Taco Bell’s US stores open at least a year jumped 8% in the third quarter, year over year.

Jamal Murray Gets His Own Meal at KFC

It has been a winning year for KFC Chicken Nuggets and STARRY, PepsiCo’s crisp, refreshing, lemon-lime flavored soda. To celebrate, the pair are teaming up to recognize basketball star Jamal Murray’s championship, to relaunch the Jamal Murray Meal at KFC, and offer 27 leather jackets – a homage to Jamal’s jersey number – to loyal fans. The Jamal Murray Meal, available on the KFC app and KFC.com from October 19 to December 31, 2023, features 12 KFC Nuggets hand-breaded in Original Recipe® paired with a refreshing medium STARRY. The meal also includes Secret Recipe Fries, a biscuit, and Jamal’s favorite dipping sauces: Buffalo Ranch and Classic Ranch.

Taco Bell: The Fastest Drive-Thru in America

For the third consecutive year, Taco Bell was the fastest quick-service drive-thru in America, according to the QSR Drive-Thru Report. This go-around, it clocked a total time of 278.84 seconds, a pretty sizable gap from Carl’s Jr.’s No. 2 result of 303.74. Taco Bell was also the pack leader in average service time at 205.35 seconds, ahead of Wendy’s 229.5.

Free taco from Taco Bell during the World Series

Taco Bell in partnership with MLB announced the return of its “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” promo for baseball’s World Series, which starts on Oct. 27. The first player to steal a base will be dubbed this year’s “Taco Hero,” scoring free tacos for Taco Bell Rewards Members nationwide. There will also be the opportunity to win “Taco Bell for Life” in the form of a $15,000 digital gift card. That’s a lot of Mexican Pizzas and Nacho Fries with Vegan Nacho Sauce.

KFC tests a new bowl, focus on attracting younger consumers

KFC is testing Smash’d Potato Bowls in Pittsburgh for a limited time. The bowls include KFC’s Secret Recipe Fries, mashed potatoes with a warm cheese sauce, bacon crumbles, and a three-cheese blend, and are available for $3.49. Customers can also add KFC’s new nuggets to the Smash’d Potato Bowl for $5.49. The nuggets were introduced in March as part of the intentional focus on recruiting younger consumers with menu offerings that are more relevant to them, such as its chicken sandwich, wraps and its $5 Mac & Cheese Bowl. The $5 Mac & Cheese Bowl was first introduced in 2019 and returned in 2022 at the $5 price point to promote a stronger value proposition. It was also brought back alongside the nuggets launch in March. Executives noted the product helped drive a positive 2% same-store sales comp. On a call to analysts, Yum Brands CEO David Gibbs said it’s a value offering without “just discounting our core product,” which interested a wide array of consumers.

Taco Bell Is Adding Vegan Nacho Fries to All Locations Nationwide

Since they first hit the menu in 2018, Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries—seasoned fries served with a side of nacho cheese dipping sauce—have been a top-selling, limited-time item. This year, the popular fries are back and there is something new to crave for Taco Bell lovers looking for a dairy-free option.

On October 12, Vegan Nacho Sauce will debut that customers can pair with vegan-certified Nacho Fries instead of the dairy-based nacho cheese sauce. This marks the first vegan offering to be made available across all locations.

Coach Prime stars in new KFC commercial

KFC is going all in on the Deion Sanders experience at Colorado with a new commercial featuring the Sanders family. KFC has previously worked with the family to promote the Fill Up Box and chicken nuggets. Now the Sanders’ are promoting the new hot and spicy wings. Coach Prime is heavily featured in the commercial, along with his sons and current Colorado players, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders. The athletes both signed NIL deals to appear in the campaign.
